Here it is, the day after Christmas. The end of 2017 is fast approaching. And what a year it has been.

There's something about stripping off ornaments off the tree that always produces in me a feeling of self reflection. I'm reminded of Christmas past. And I am looking toward a new and brighter future. You see this year I was married to my best friend, soul mate and lover. We bought a home together. We are living the American dream. We are like most couples our age. We just live with less and we are happy.

We were once young. Married to different people, in different states. We were not like we are today. There's the obvious signs we have aged. The gray hair, empty nest, grown children and grandchildren.

This is the day in the life of a sober quilter. More to come.
